Its me again! Im going to do a lot more painting. I thought I start off with a self portrait. They're usually the most difficult for me because its hard to look at myself objectively. If I could make a nice portrait of myself, I could make one of anybody else.

I wanted to see how far I've come as an artist. So put away my art supplies and made a drawing with crayons on construction paper. I cheated a little. I used a color pencil for the outline of the drawing. they were crayola color pencil though.

4. I started to vlog artwork for many reasons, one was to inspire myself and other artist. I fell like I have very little to share but I've been taught that no matter how small your portion you can always split it in half to share so that's what I'm doing.

1 year anniversary

About a year ago this time I decieded to get back into painting after a 5 year layoff and this is my first one. I thought it was great but I knew I had a lot of work to do to get back to the skill level I once had. Its incredable to see how far I've come. I think I'm a better painter now than I ever was. I'd like to thank everyone for there support and kind words I'm going to have another great year because of you!!!! Thanks again.

I had a lot of fun with this little guy. I got it from one of those build a bear stores. You give it a name and you get a birth certificate. How cool is that.

Here one I completed for an upcoming show.This particular beauty took me almost 11 hour to finish.If you were woundering why it took me so long it is because I used 8 different colors for the skin tone alone. I apply the paint in water color washes.Applying paint this way makes the color extra vibrant. Click on the image to get a super sized view and count the colors.

I had another dream about painting. This time I held the image in my mind until I could find a pencil and paper. I made a quick drawing, then a color sketch. I ran some errands after the initial sketch and completed the painting later in the day.
