The Digital Sketchbook #4

7x10
multimedia on multimedia paper

This is different from what I normally post. This work is from my sketchbook. I thought I'd show some of the work that goes into making a painting by showing my sketches.

Biggie

This is painting is based on The Notorious Big first album cover. Remember back in the day when cds came with a booklet as the cover and you would read the credits. Remember cds lol. This painting is done on a metal mixer plate.
The best part about being able to paint is having the ability to paint. I can paint anything on anything. If you have any special ideas about putting something great on any object like this mixer let me know in a message.

FAITH

9x12
acrylic on paper

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Faith is a spiritual substance. It is of course with in us. We have all the faith we need. Its belief that we need to increase.

Mila Kunas

8x10
acrylic on canvas board

My concentration on this painting was the teeth. Everybody loves a smile. But you might notice there aren't to many paintings of them. Well the truth is they can go sour easily if you don't get enough practice. Then they become easy like everything else. Practice makes perfect.

The Eye

8x10
acrylic on canvas panel

there is something special about the eyes. They are so expressive. They they tell a story.  A portrait doesn't seem to come together until you get the eyes right.

untitled portrait (blending)

8x10
acrylic on canvas

With this paint I demonstrate the process of blending acrylic paint. I get an awful lot of question on this subject. Truthfully its the hardest aspect of acrylic painting or just something to learn. It depends entirely on our prospective. Instead of showing a speed painting of the portrait, I expose this method by painting the sphere to right.
