7x10
multimedia on multimedia paper

This is different from what I normally post. This work is from my sketchbook. I thought I'd show some of the work that goes into making a painting by showing my sketches.

FAITH

9x12
acrylic on paper

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Faith is a spiritual substance. It is of course with in us. We have all the faith we need. Its belief that we need to increase.

Hope!

8x10
acrylic on canvas

Sometimes things go wrong and we fall into despair but the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best is hope. Keep dreaming, keep planing, keep working but most of all keep hope alive

Maya Angelou

8x10
acrylic on canvas

Maya Angelou in her own words:

While I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember that everyone else and everything else are also God's creation.

Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it destination full of hope.

Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold -- but so does a hard-boiled egg.

Malcolm X

8x10
acrylic on canvas

Malcolm X in his own words

Stumbling is not falling

Don't be in a hurry to condemn because he doesn't do what you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today
I believe in the brotherhood of man, all men, but I don't believe in brotherhood with anybody who doesn't want brotherhood with me. I believe in treating people right, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to treat somebody right who doesn't know how to return the treatment
A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything.

Nelson Mandela

8x10
acrylic on canvas
How many people do you know or heard of after spend about 30 years in prison, assume leadership of a mass movement. Then jointly receive a noble prize. After that vote the first time in a democratic election where he was elected president. All of this while he was in his 70's. He got remarried on his 80th birthday. And I thought life was suppose to be down hill after I turn 30 LOL. His example show us to keep moving forward and progressing no matter the circumstance.
"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall"
 Nelson Mandela

Martin Luther King

8x10
acrylic on canvas board

I wanted to paint his picture because of the historic nature of our 45th president. 150 years ago emancipation proclamation becomes law. 50 years ago Martin Luther King marches on Washington. Today Barack is at the head of the highest office of the land. Never ever ever ever ever give up.

The Rose

I learned how to paint flowers because I was trying to impress a girl. We saw some at a gallery and she asked if I do such thing. Of course my answer was yes, even though I didn't have clue. The girl didn't last but my love of flowers endures.
