The Digital Sketchbook #4

7x10
multimedia on multimedia paper

This is different from what I normally post. This work is from my sketchbook. I thought I'd show some of the work that goes into making a painting by showing my sketches.

Success is not built on success. It's built on failure. It's built on frustration. Sometimes its built on catastrophe.

LOCKS

8x10
acrylic on canvas

My secret ingredient for this one is love. I know how cheesy and corny that sounds but because I was painting dreads I couldn't help but to think of all my friends and family with locks. So when there was a choice to do a little more or less, I always chose more. It wasn't anything huge, just little extras that add up and It shows in the final product. Little things mean a lot.

Meridiculous (JKPP)

8x10
acrylic on canvas board

The process of painting is pretty interesting. The more I do the more I see I fall back on some really basic principles. The problem with paint has nothing at all to do with the simple rules. The difficulty is in the doing. If you can get ourselves to do it continuously then we will get the results we've been looking for.
